In the midst of summer school, I found myself searching for the perfect way to bring the spirit of Independence Day into my classroom. 

As a special education teacher, I wanted to create a memorable and engaging bulletin board that would not only celebrate the holiday but also serve as a valuable learning tool for my students. 

July 4th Bulletin board

Little did I know that my quest for the ideal bulletin board idea would lead me to a treasure trove of creativity and fun!

After exploring numerous online resources, I stumbled upon a collection of 4th July crafts for kids and printable short vowel words activities that were simply perfect for my needs. 

I downloaded a zip file filled with png files and pdf files, ready to be transformed into the most captivating bulletin board display ever.

With the upcoming 4th of July and Memorial Day in mind, I began brainstorming various school bulletin board ideas that would encapsulate the spirit of these important holidays.

While fostering a joyful and inclusive learning environment. Armed with scissors, glue, and a heap of creativity, I embarked on a journey to bring my favorite July bulletin board ideas to life.

One of my favorite bulletin board ideas revolved around a patriotic door decor kit. This fun bulletin board was adorned with vibrant red, white, and blue decorations, alongside july fourth-related words and symbols. 

The students eagerly participated in creating their own personalized stars and stripes to contribute to the board.

Here’s how to create the printable short vowels burger craft:

Materials you will need:

– Red or Blue cardboard display

– Digital download for the templates (below)

– Black marker

– Glue

– Scissors

Kids will love making these crafts with bright colors and try to use high quality paper, it will truly make a difference in the outcome. 

Step 1: Have the kids cut out the burger topper display.

Step 2: They will then write their names on the burger patty (the bottom one) – they can also write a secret message underneath signifying 4th July if you wish. 

Step 3: They will then write some short vowel words they learned. If they aren’t ready to write just yet, have them cut out the words after you have written them (have them read the words though).

Step 4: they can cut out the CVC words and then glue them onto their cardboard display.

Step 5: They can also glue the topper on the display to finish off the craft!
