Counting Lemonade Activity

One of the fundamental skills for preschoolers to develop is counting. Engage their mathematical minds with this interactive counting lemonade activity.

The goal is to follow the task card numbers and add the corresponding amount of “lemonade” to the jug.

Materials needed:

– Task cards with numbers 1-10

– Small paper or foam lemons or lemon cutouts in the download

– A large jug or container or the print out

– Craft glue or sticky tack

Instructions:

1. Print and laminate the task cards for durability.

2. Place the jug or container in a visible and accessible spot.

3. Spread out the numbered task cards and provide the paper or foam lemons.

4. Encourage the preschoolers to pick a task card, read the number aloud, and add the corresponding number of lemons, ice cubes and sugar to the jug.

5. Repeat the process until all the task cards have been completed.

This activity not only helps reinforce counting skills but also enhances hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and number recognition.
