Common and proper noun sort – Pot of Gold!

This activity is a great way to practice common and proper nouns with students in first grade. My ESL students particularly loved this. This is a part of my St. Patrick’s Day Math & Literacy packet

During this station, students sort the ‘coins’ into the common or proper noun ‘pots’. FUN! Here are some pictures. 🙂

Here’s another math activity where the kids choose the true and false math addition equations in the pile below. They then write the correct statements and correct the false ones. This activity took quite a while as students were trying to work out their answers. I gave them some extra manipulatives to work with like unifix cubes and buttons.
