The following are some examples of letter matching games:

1) Alphabet Memory Matching Game:

This game involves turning over cards that have letters on them and then trying to find the corresponding letter on another card.

The player has to turn over two cards at a time, and if they match they can keep them, if not they should be turned back over so that the next player can try to find a match.

2) Alphabet Bingo Game: 2 This game is similar to bingo in that players need to cover their card with numbers or pictures of alphabet sounds.

Alphabet Upper and Lowercase Matching with Beginning Sounds Flower Pot is a simple way to practice letter matching AND letter sounds.

To prepare:

  • scissors
  • laminator
  • game cards (link below)

To play:

  • Have the kids choose a ‘flower pot’ first and identify the letter on the pot.
  • Then the kids will look for the letter on the flowers and match it to the correct pot. There are uppercase and lowercase letter ‘flowers’.
  • They will then look for the beginning sound pictures to match those to the correct pots.
