Celebrating Differences Activities for Kids
This super fun and special craft will help kids understand the importance of showing their own true colors.
This Rudolph craft is fun to make and super easy, it can also be differentiated well. It’s important kids truly know how essential it is to cherish the qualities they have.
Why are crafts important for kids?
Crafts are a great way to spend time with your child and teach them new skills. They are also great for helping kids express themselves creatively.
There is a wide range of crafts that can be done with kids from arts and crafts to cooking. They can be done at home or in the classroom and any age group can participate.
Some of the benefits of crafting for kids include:
Encourages creativity
Teaches practical skills
Teaches patience and concentration
It’s for this main reason I try to incorporate various themed crafts in our lesson planning.
Diversity Crafts
The first step to teaching kids about diversity is to make sure they understand the meaning of the word.
Diversity is a term that refers to the variety of people, cultures, ideas, and things in our world.
It’s also the idea that everyone deserves equal opportunities and should be treated with respect.
THis craft below targets celebrating differences in a super fun way!
Imagine reading the story about Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and then making this craft with the whole class.

Having them hung up on the door or the bulletin board is an excellent way to promote diversity each and everyday throughout the months of November and December!
The next step is to teach them about how we are all different in some way and it’s okay to be different.
We should also teach them that there are many ways to be different and no one way is better than any other.
This will help them learn more about themselves and others around them as well as promote acceptance for all differences in the world.

A super cute reindeer name writing printable craft!
Rudolph Craft Template
This craft template not only focuses on building diversity and celebrating our differences, but it also targets name letter recognition.
So if you have young learners or even toddlers, have them make this craft without the writing component and with the letters of their name!
How to build this craft:
Firstly, print the reindeer templates provided in the printable pack, have the kids color it in before cutting it out OR cut the pieces out and the children will color them in.
Then, be sure to have the letters of their name also written on the templates and cut them out for each student.

The nose piece is the most exciting part!
Have the kids write about what they are good at and what makes them different.
For instance, they can identify characteristics or specific things they love that others don’t.
It is an open ended thing here, so don’t be tied down to just one thing.
Have them cut out the pieces then glue them onto cardstock or craft paper to make them sturdy.
