The craft I’ll be sharing below is perfect for teaching kids all about smiling even when there are super tough times, looking at the brighter side of life. With this craft, kids get to write about and name things that they can smile or ‘grin’ about under their craft. This is even better than a plain paper plate Grinch craft.
Fun Grinch Crafts to Make
This printable craft can be used throughout the month of December, you can hang it on top of your Christmas tree or make a super cute holiday craft to give to someone as a gift.
It can even be hung on a tree as Grinch Christmas ornament. It’s a great way to get the kids into the Christmas spirit.
Have some Grinch cookies? Add some to a plate next to this craft! Dr. Seuss’s hit will be greatly cherished this season and every season.
It’s so much fun to make, and you get to target some SEL (social emotional learning skills) along with this craft.
Easy craft for kids of all ages
This printable Grinch Christmas craft is perfect for all ages, you will just have to modify it a little to make it accessible by all.
For instance, preschool and kindergarten kids could do the name letters along with pictures of their favorite things that make them smile onto the love hearts.
Older students can write and delve deeper into the things that make them smile!
Little hands love making heart crafty things, this is one of the best ones to make because it can be targeted for different age groups and grades. Christmas time is the best time for crafts.

Fun ideas Cute Grinch Craft
You will need some supplies for this craft:
- Green paint or print the colored template instead
- Black marker for writing the letters on the balls for the hat
- Glue
- Red coloring pencils (optional) or print the colored template
After the kids watch the Grinch movie, talk about it and its themes.
Ask them why do they think the Grinch was unhappy. WHat were his reasons etc. The kids normally get into this easily naming things the Grinch hates.
This would make a great Grinch activities and ideas for Christmas season. You could even add these templates to a Grinch handprint Christmas card if you wish.

Easy Grinch Craft for Social Emotional Learning
For the Grinch’s eyes and Grinch’s face, you would use a printable photo of the child’s face, you can however draw them on. It’s a fun way to extend the activity.
I also like using cotton balls to decorate the craft. You could add as many as you need without the letters.
However, in this craft I added some empty cotton balls where you can add the letters of the child’s name.
