Letter Z Printables

Need some fun and new ways to get kids learning and practicing the letter Z with all its sounds?

I LOVE to include hands-on materials to help children master letter sounds.

It’s essential we teach letter sounds along with letter identification, this will make learning the alphabet so much easier for kids.

In this section, we will explore some activities for children to learn the letter Z.

Z is for zebra. Children can draw a picture of themselves as a zebra or even trace a zebra outline.

The letter Z is the last letter in the English alphabet.

Z is for zebra, zoo, and zap.

Z is for Zed, who left home on a bike.

Z is for zip, which starts with Z!

Teaching kids the alphabet is a great way to introduce them to the basics of reading and writing.

The alphabet is comprised of 26 letters, but there are actually only 18 sounds. We can teach our little ones how to write the letter Z by using this simple exercise.

The letter Z starts with a zigzag line, followed by a wiggle line, then two more zigzag lines. The sound of the letter is “zee” and it looks like this: ~~~Z~~~

These handprint templates cannot be easier to use! Just print the template you need then direct the students to what you want their ‘zebra’ to look like.

It’s okay if they handprint it elsewhere on the page, as long as they get the chance to handprint their hands onto the paper twice and make the ‘body’ of the zebra.

They will then decorate their handprints with some dot paint.

Have them use cotton ear buds for this.
