ESL Bulletin Board Ideas Grammar Time Popcorn Display
Elementary students will love these ESL bulletin board ideas and displays. Even mainstream students will love the visuals. When it comes to displaying bulletins, I always try to be sure that they are relevant for my learners.
I share so many more bulletin boards on this blog. Be sure to see all of them! I’m particularly passionate about SEL boards.

I don’t like to waste any space in the classroom. I will be sharing one of my favorite displays below for the ESL classroom.
Bulletin boards in classroom
Why is it important to utilise bulletin board displays in the classroom? Bulletins convey information about particular concepts, maybe difficult ones that need a display for students to remember. They impart information and facilitate an open classroom environment.
Bulletin boards also inspire students to collaborate on projects and remember important information.

They allow teachers to take advantage of precious wall space. Teachers can use that space to convey important reminders and skills that students need to remember.
If you want to dive even deeper into describing words after doing this craft, you might love the extra visuals inside my Adjective Chart Easy Craft post. It pairs perfectly with this cocoa mug activity because both show kids how to sort adjectives by type in a really hands-on way.
Practice Grammar with Bingo Sheets
Grammar practice does not have to mean worksheets and groans. This FREE Do, Does, Doesn’t, Don’t Grammar Bingo turns sentence practice into an actual game my students beg to play again. Each square includes a real sentence where students have to think about the correct verb choice before covering it.

I use this during whole-group review, ESL small groups, or those end-of-lesson moments when attention is fading fast. Add chips, a few highlighters, and suddenly grammar feels less like grammar and more like “Can we play one more round?”

One of the great advantages of having bulletin board space is to display a large set of grammar skills.
This popcorn display below is a perfect way to do this.
It includes the following examples of grammatical concepts:
Noun
Verb
Adjective
Adverb
Pronoun
Conjunction
Interjection
The best part about bulletin boards is that they are an excellent tool for ESL learners when joining a new classroom.
This activity also works beautifully during grammar centers when you’re rotating through different language skills. If your students enjoy these craft-style lessons, they’ll definitely have fun with the Contractions Craft since it uses the same cut-and-paste, student-led format.
Mainstream students will also tremendously benefit from them as they see the display on the wall to remind them of important grammar concepts.

Grammar bulletin board ideas
This popcorn display idea for grammar concepts is a perfect way to remind students of parts of speech.
Sometimes, however, I use the same templates to get the students creating their displays in their interactive notebooks.
For instance when you download the free sample below with verbs and nouns, you could get students sorting between these two onto their notebooks.
I would print the templates 2 to a page.
When we work on describing words, I often review verbs at the same time so kids see how adjectives and actions fit together in sentences. The Irregular Verbs 3 Forms guide is a quick way to help them spot tense patterns before writing.

For ESL learners who need extra support during winter writing tasks, pairing adjectives with a reference list of tricky verbs helps a lot. I like keeping the esl list of irregular verbs close by so students can check both their verb forms and their describing words in one place.
Try adding some prompts from my English Routine Conversation Questions. Students can use their marshmallow adjectives to answer simple conversation tasks, which turns the whole activity into a cute little oral language warm-up.
