Easy bulletin boards gingerbread men
With preschool kids, we want to make sure they can actually make the craft. So the simpler the shapes, the better.
This is by far one of my favorite ways on how to help my child love reading again!
I love when they also make their own gingerbread house pictures each year. That is definitely one of our favorite crafts.
Themed bulletin boards are always a great idea to inspire creativity in your students.
There are different ways in doing this, but it’s pretty simple get the kids to create the craft using simple shapes and crafting materials like construction paper, then hang the crafts on the bulletin board.

Gingerbread bulletin boards
The best bulletin boards often come from showcasing student work.
They will love these hung on the classroom door during the winter season, and what’s more, encourage them to read more by adding more book titles to the template throughout the month! This is a favorite December bulletin board idea in our classroom.
I usually start it early however, towards the end of November so that we could get the most out of our Gingerbread unit.
It’s a fun way to get them excited about the season and a great way to kick off the holiday spirit!

Gingerbread Name Craft
Children’s names are a common theme in pre-k and kindergarten for me. We can’t get enough name writing activities and printables for this time of year.
And adding name printables to the Gingerbread theme activities is a no brainer.
This printable is a great addition to your small group name literacy crafts and centers.

If you don’t want to use it as a Bulletin board, you could also use it just as a craft (it’s optional to add the template of the book), but I think it’s so much fun seeing the kids faces light up when they add a book title to their ‘read books’.

How to set up the bulletin board
This board is easy to set up, just print out the letters to the sentence “Read, read as much as you can!” and hang it on the board along with the kids finished gingerbreadman craft.
They can come back to the craft and add more book titles as they go
. I love doing crafts and I also love incorporating a learning aspect to these crafts like fine motor skills, literacy, counting and more.

What’s included in the gingerbread craft
This craft can’t be simpler to make, just print the templates shown, have the kids color the template, then add the eyes, the mouth etc.
There are options for these in the file. So choose whichever templates work best for you.
I’ve added options with color and blacklines.
Older students can also enjoy this winter wonderland craft by adding the books they have read onto it throughout the month of November and December.
It will make a cut display and it can easily be differentiated.

Gingerbread Jokes Handwriting Worksheets
I’m so excited to share the Gingerbread Jokes Handwriting Worksheets—they’re a total win for adding a little laughter and handwriting practice to the holiday season!
These pages are such a fun way to keep kids engaged. Each one features a silly gingerbread-themed joke (seriously, they’re so cute) and traceable handwriting lines to help sharpen those penmanship skills.
It’s the perfect mix of giggles and learning, and I love how it brings a festive twist to everyday practice. Plus, who doesn’t love a good joke while working on handwriting? It’s a guaranteed smile-maker for kids (and honestly, for me too).
The activity begins with kids encountering amusing jokes that revolve around gingerbread—ranging from playful puns to sweet, witty humor.
As they read and giggle over each joke, they’re prompted to trace the joke itself, enhancing their fine motor skills and handwriting precision.
This engaging blend of humor and handwriting practice not only keeps children entertained but also encourages them to refine their writing skills in a relaxed and enjoyable manner.
As they trace the jokes, children reinforce letter formation, spacing, and overall handwriting legibility, all while reveling in the holiday-themed amusement.
