When the topic of shopping comes around with my ESL students, they all often get so excited about it. Teaching words related to shopping with this shopping wordsearch is so much fun. Students will learn shopping words and vocabulary, writing and spelling these words too.
I often find that my ESL students need more practice on new words, vocabulary learning and more.

What are some benefits of word searches?
Word searches aren’t only for learning new words and playing games.
They develop critical thinking skills, collaboration (if searching within a group), teaches proper and healthy game ethics, and more.
I would say the biggest advantage I see with my students when doing a word search is the fact that they seem to enjoy finding the words, looking them up in the dictionary as well as the challenge of getting them all.

Shopping words
I wanted a giant wordsearch to help my ESL students develop language and vocabulary skills, this one is huge.
It includes about 33 words, however the direction of the words are all fairly easy to find. I don’t want to make these super difficult for my students to find and I also want them to learn spelling of each word.
So the words go only forwards and not backwards and they go only from left to right in direction as well as diagonal format.
This way, it’s challenging, but not challenging enough to make them quit it and not want to complete it.
