Simple ways to teach toddlers all about their teeth

Teaching toddlers about their teeth can be a fun and interactive experience. Here are some tips to help you get started:

Use simple language: Explain to your toddler that their teeth are for biting, chewing and smiling. Use simple terms and images to help them understand.

Show and Tell: Let your toddler see and touch their own teeth. Use a small mirror to show them their teeth and encourage them to touch and count their teeth.

Make it a routine: Make brushing and flossing a part of your daily routine. Let your toddler watch you brush your teeth and then let them try brushing their own teeth with a child-sized toothbrush and a small amount of toothpaste.

Use toys and books: Use toys, books, and videos to reinforce the importance of dental hygiene. Look for materials that are specifically designed for young children and include fun characters and interactive elements.

Lead by example: Show your toddler the importance of taking care of their teeth by taking care of your own. Brush and floss your teeth at the same time as your toddler, and make it a fun and interactive experience.
