NUMBER ORDER TO 10 WITH CATERPILLARS
To prepare:
- A4 paper
- Printer
- Scissors
- Dot stickers
- Laminator
This activity is perfect for preschool or kindergarten kids. To prep this activity, print the caterpillar number cards and laminate them (preferably because you will be using dot stickers on them).
You could get the empty caterpillar printed and laminated too for repeated missing number and number order activities.
Free Printable Dot Sticker Activities
Playing this number order game is fairly straight forward. Choose the caterpillar printable and then program a set of dot stickers with the missing numbers, choose these carefully not to overload your students with a large number of cards.
Students will begin by laying out the caterpillar and identifying the numbers on the caterpillar.
They will count the numbers starting with 0 and continuing on until the last number shown on the caterpillar.
Check on the students to be sure they ordered their numbers correctly. After they have finished counting, they can begin filling in the missing numbers using the dot stickers.

You can also print two sets of these caterpillar templates in black and white and have the kids fill in the empty missing numbers.
This will help them further develop their number identification skills.
There are many ways to use these templates. You could also fill them out starting from any number and have the kids fill them in as they go.
You could have the kids copying their number sequence and drawing the caterpillars onto their workbooks and more!
