Easy Marinara Sauce Recipe

Sometimes, when it comes to cooking. I find the hardest part is using so many utensils and then having to do the washing up afterwards.

This became a reason why I avoided cooking in the first place. But I had to find a way, as you know, busy teacher, busy parent, busy families.

We all need shortcuts. But because I was also on a particular health kick diet (more on that later), I wanted to be sure I made super healthy meals too.

This marinara sauce is easy to make if you want to go the healthy route.

I simply would use the following:

  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • a bunch of coriander
  • 1 onion
  • a sprinkle of oregano
  • salt

As simple as it gets, this marinara sauce is the one I always turn to.

I also adapted this sauce and added healthy veggies in one spaghetti sauce recipe I made which turned out perfect.

Seafood Marinara Pasta

I never thought I could replicate this seafood pasta, until I found the prepackaged seafood pack that I bought and tried for myself.

What a breeze that was to make!

Here’s my take on it.

In a saucepan, heat Olive oil then cook onions until soft. Add garlic and stir until fragrant. Add all tomatoes and stir. Allow the fresh tomatoes to soften and release all their juices and simmer for 20min. Add lunch of salt.

When the sauce is ready add seafood and cook for 10min.

Add spaghetti to saucepan (or sauce to spaghetti pot- whichever will fit!) Stir in well over low heat for 10min.

If you want to, you can always use gluten free pasta, I simply cook with more gluten free options these days.

And thankfully, we live in a world with a lot more healthier options for pasta than we ever did!

What are some toppings that you can add to this spaghetti marinara recipe?

There are options! You can shred and add more cheddar cheese. Grated cheese of any flavor is certain to taste great. You can also add some diced coriander or parsely.

Fresh chives and cilantro as well.

What are some sides that you can serve with this spaghetti marinara recipe?

You can make a quick cucumber and onion salad, a diced cabbage salad or simply chop up some diced vegetables like tomatoes olives and more.
