It is important to learn about the body in preschool. These body parts activities for preschoolers are perfect when introducing this theme. This body parts activity below will help children become more aware of their own bodies and help them understand that we all have body parts. This includes all body parts that sometimes we don’t explicitly teach to preschoolers. And sometimes, teaching parts of the body to younger learners requires a bit more fun and games!

The first time you introduce the topic, there should be a lot of pictures to help learners understand their own body parts. These printables can also be used as parts of the body worksheet ideas.

The way I would turn these posters in games and games for parts of the body, is I would perhaps get a group to work on labelling the parts or pointing to them, then have them share their posters.

They can even personalise these posters and create a poster of themselves like a my body parts poster!

A great way is to begin by showing the kids body parts by pointing to them.

You can even use the empty posters to add the names when the kids say the names of the body parts.

Play this Simon says game with your preschoolers, I created a poster that you can hang on your wall and have the kids roll a big die and follow the step to ‘do what Simon says’.

For instance, if they roll a 2 then they will copy the movement shown and touch their right foot.

The good news about this game is that it includes the images so kids aren’t confused about what to do next.

This is one of the best ways to learn all about the body, incorporate movement with your activities and watch your preschoolers grow!

Teaching body parts the fun way

If you want to incorporate a sensory bin with this activity, on a large piece of paper, cut out body parts and have the kids find them and build a person on their paper.
