Emotions Picture Prompt Cards
One of my favorite ways to teach emotions is to move beyond simply labeling something as “happy,” “sad,” or “angry.” These feelings picture cards encourage kids to become little emotion detectives!
Students look closely at real photographs and consider what the person might be feeling. From there, they can examine facial expressions, body language, actions, and other clues.
The activities are differentiated across two levels. At Level 1, students begin with more supported identifying emotions activities. They look at the photograph, decide how the person may feel, consider the intensity of the feeling, and identify clues from the mouth, eyes, and body.
