I know how hard it is to find online games that are suitable for toddlers and younger children, especially how hard it is to find ad safe ones. I know my children are constantly clicking on links everywhere, it was difficult getting to focus on anything. The best way to do this, is to keep the game focused on the skills you want to achieve with the child. So for instance

With this age group, you will find that the things that interest them are the simple audio games, or games that require more of a guide. Simple and large images help kids in this age group and the audio is definitely of paramount, I find that my kids sometimes don’t click to listen to the audio, but that’s only because they haven’t had a guide yet on how to do this yet. Audio is essential!

Setting up Educational Games for Kids Online

The first time you use anything new, including Boom Cards it’ll be a learning curve however I find that it’s an invaluable tool for differentiating instruction / varying the type of games kids play. Sometimes, kids will tap and play (if they’re 2 or 3) then they’ll run somewhere else. That’s okay too, you can’t expect them to be focused 100 percent on the activity. As long as they come back to it after they go somewhere else.

What happens if my child isn’t focused?

So this could happen for many reasons, children as young as 2 or 3 may be a little fidgetty and distracted. That’s totally normal, introducing games like this to your toddler are beneficial because it helps them build skills like listening, following directions, and developing numeracy and literacy skills in various ways.
