Free Sight Word Spin Read and Color Penguin Themed Blog Post: looking for some new ways to to get students reading their sight words? These fun printable pages offer some variety in their daily sight word practice! They spin the words on the penguin using a paper clip and a pencil and then read the word the clip is pointing to, they finally color the word. They keep going until all the ‘snowballs’ have been colored.
What you’ll need to set up this activity:
- A4 paper
- paper clips
- pencil
- coloring pencils/crayons
This activity is easy to setup, just print and laminate if you wish (so you could re-use the same pages with dry erase markers). There is a black and white option and a colored option. You could choose to print whichever set you like. Once printed, you can have the set of sight words that the students are working on on one table and another set on another. Read the sight words together and explain that the students must read the sight words after they spin the clip. They spin, read then color.
They can use as many colors as they wish and preferably a color for each sight word! There are many ways to practice sight words, my students love these Pirate themed sight word activities and the sight word cut and paste burgers activity.
You could download the full pack FREE with all Pre-K Sight Words here from the store.
