Easter Fun Ideas for Toddlers

No matter how prepared we seem for the holidays – I feel that sometimes we might miss a few important things.

Like, using the holidays to engage kids in skills they need to develop and build.

A tissue box and some colored pom poms will make for a super fun Easter color match activity.

Pick up your copy of this template at the end of this post!

Free template in the post! This FUN box was made in literally TWO minutes and kids were playing with it for hours! To create this activity, print the coloured chicks template (click on the image below) and glue this onto the tissue box (top side down). create holes on each 'chick' and then prepare some medium sized pom poms (matching colours) on the side along with some tongs. The kids will have a ball placing the pom poms using tongs into the correct matching chick to feed them! When they're done, pull out the pom poms (from the opening) and store them for use next time! #preschoolteachers #finemotorskills

Want to create a sensory bin with those chicks that you bought from Amazon?

This super simple setup is a great way to incorporate fine motor skills with your toddlers when using tongs.

Read how to set this up at the end of this post!

This simple sensory tub is so much fun to set up! It takes just minimal materials too. Here's what you'll need: Coloured rice or some simple fillers from the dollar store like the one I used below (shaved wood). Alligator tongs Mini coloured or clear cups (like the ones below) Colourful chicks Coloured pipe cleaners To play, kids will pick up the pipe cleaners and place them into the matching coloured chick. Be sure to cut the pipe cleaners in half to create small 'worms' to feed the chicks! ;)
Sensory bin feed the chicks with straw, tongs, piepe cleaners and fluffly chicks.

Here are some super fun Easter ideas for toddlers you can add to your learning corner:

Check out this simple card and paint activity from @CharisandAllegra on Instagram.

They used simple foam chicks to add to the idea, however you could also use these fluffy chicks from Amazon 60 for $12 not a bad bargain!

This rescue the eggs activity is a super cute one to play with plastic eggs – also from Amazon.

Kids LOVE these plastic eggs, add any letters or numbers you like inside the egg to include a literacy / math game while ‘hunting for eggs’.

You could also use tongs so that toddlers and preschoolers can practice their fine motor skills. This photo is credit to @Letsplaymummy on Instagram:

Another super simple activity featuring eggs, can be added to your centers.

This idea and photo is credit to @Momupnorthh on Instagram.

The best part about this activity is that you can use your artistic skills to create the pattern on the eggs and have your toddlers match them up.

This is a great activity for working on visual discrimination skills.
